2023 Domaine du Nozay Sancerre 750ml
The Le Nozay castle is situated in the village of Sainte Gemme en Sancerrois north of Sancerre proper. Vineyards have abounded about it, but it was not until the Baron Philippe de Benoist and his wife purchased the Ch â teau that a considerable effort to make wine here began; the year after their purchase (1971) they planted a hectare of Sauvignon Blanc. Their son Cyril Benoist is the winemaker as well as owner of the Domaine du Nozay, and under his guidance, the now 15 h ectares under vine have been certified organic since 2011 and biodynamic since 2017. Honest wines are what the Benoist family wants to produce, and their flagship wine reflects those values amply. A blend of the three single vineyards that comprise Nozay, the 2023 vintage is from the famous terroir of Terres Blanches, with Kimmeridgian marl soils shaping a wonderful, mouth - watering acidity and minerality that is a calling card for the estate and this wine particularly. Lemon, lychee, and pink grapefruit are readily felt on the bouquet, while the wine is buoyant on the palate and long and refreshing on the finish. A delicious summer Sancerre to match with oysters, all manner of shellfish and salads.

2023 Domaine de l'Ile Cotes de Provence Rose Porquerolles 750ml
D omaine de L’Ile is a unique wine estate, situated on the Proven ç al i sland of Porquerolles, just off the coast of the AOC of C ô tes de Provence. Domaine de L’Ile is the only wine estate on the island, lying on three adjacent but distinct terroirs, all shaded by olive trees and bearing the results of the salty Mediterranean Sea and its winds. The clay - schist soils nurture traditional varieties such as Grenache, Cin sault, Syrah, and Mourv è dre, all of which help compose a stellar Ros é ! After years of single ownership, the property was sold to Chanel, which brought in its winemaking team to restore the winery and the vineyards. Pierre Etcheberry manages the estate and the day - to - day winemaking. He has supervised the replanting of much of the vineyards; the 2023 vintage was a shorter one than usual due to the replanting of many of the vines. It is nonetheless a vibrant wine, showing off aromatics of strawberry, raspberry , crushed white stones and pink grapefruit. The richness of the Mourv è dre has allowed this 2023 to taste as fresh as a new vintage Ros é , and the salinity is felt from the attack through the long finish, along with delectable red berry and orange peel flavo rs. This is a perfect pairing with about anything on your summer menu and will do just nicely sipping on a beach by itself as well! Be transported to the Mediterranean Riviera with a glass of L’Ile

2022 Dominique Gruhier Bourgogne Epineuil Cote de Grisey 750ml
Dominique Gruhier, though his maternal grandfather was a n è gociant in C ô te d’Or, was not brought up in a winemaking tradition, but caught the ‘bug’ and his father’s purchase of some vineyards in Epineuil paved the way for an estate in a cold region better known for whites. Due to its unique position, closer to Chablis and Champagne than any other region in Burgundy, Epineuil does produce some Pinot Noir but very high quality Chardonnay that has been often sold to Champagne producers. In 2000, after a streak of bad fortune, Dominique purchased the vineyards and winery from his father, beginning to resurrect the C ô te de Grisey, his cherished home vineyard in Tonnerre. He began organic viticulture and winemaking and has been Ecocert certified starting in the 2016 vintage. His Pinot Noirs are light, mineral - inflected and delicious, showing off their Kimmeridgian soils that give them a long, chalky finish. Yet the 2022 vintage has a vivacity and complexity that make one think, if Chablis made a red wine, th is would be it! It is serious enough to enjoy with dinner, and a tuna steak, monkfish, mushroom - based fare, or a charcuterie board are perfect foils to enjoy this lovely red wine with.
