    Pure magic, the 2005 Côte Rôtie La Turque is another wine that’s hitting its stride and drinking fabulously well. Deep ruby/plum-hued, with a monster bouquet of bacon fat, barbecued meats, chocolate, graphite, and spring flowers as well as a huge core of dark fruits, it’s full-bodied, flawlessly balanced, has silky tannins, and a finish that won’t quit. It’s a thrill a minute and a legendary wine to enjoy over the coming 20-30 years or more. - JD
