"Like several of the wines in the range, the oaky nose was initially reduced to the point of being borderline funky yet with extended aeration (24 hours in this case), the underlying aromas of a wonderful variety of white orchard fruit, floral, spice and soft citrus scents gradually emerge. There is outstanding richness to the big-bodied, compact and very serious flavors that coat the palate with copious amounts of dry extract that would normally cause the finish to seem ponderous yet in this case the firm acid spine maintains the balance."
