“The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin chez Lignier is again an superb wine in the making. This is a properly youthful and structured grand cru, offering up a fine aromatic constellation of plums, red and black cherries, venison, mustard seed, a complex base of soil tones and cedar. On the palate the wine is full, focused and seamlessly balanced, with a rock solid core of fruit, ripe, well-integrated tannins and a long, nascently complex and chewy finish. This is really fine. 2030-2085.”

The holding is in fact in Mazoyères-Chambertin, in the upper part. Rich glowing purple. Beautifully floral nose, roses and fine ripe cherries, very stylish. A lovely little touch from the stems, this stretches out beautifully with such finesse. - JM
