A more complex and spicier nose of both red and dark berries is trimmed in discreet yet easily perceptible wood. Somewhat curiously given the fruit from which this is made, the palate impression of the middleweight flavors is not super-dense, indeed this isn't more concentrated than the Clos Prieur (though by no means dilute). There is however fine balance and this should age effortlessly. I would add that while it's obviously still early, this cuvée is almost always the best in the range but good as it is, that may not be true in 2022. - BH
