The Rhône appellations produce aromatically complex wines that are as structured and long-lived as any great Bordeaux, with a rich and distinctive flavor all their own. The sloped vineyards of the Northern Rhône yield perfumed, heady wines that typically display exotic notes of violets, raspberry, black pepper, black earth, smoked meat, and bacon fat. The Southern Rhône, with its warm Mediterranean climate and myriad grape varieties, produces exotically rich and complex wines. These wines embody classic “Garrigue” aromas of herbes de Provence as well as ripe fruit infused with the warmth of the sun and tempered by the cool breezes of the mistral. We will taste from an exceptional selection of wines, focusing on the best producers and the finest terroirs of the Northern and Southern Rhône including:
